Space Women Alliance

Ecosystem Partner

In an industry that prides itself on pushing the boundaries of innovation, the space sector has ironically remained stagnant in one crucial aspect: gender diversity. For the past 30 years, women have consistently accounted for only 20% of the workforce.

The Space Women Alliance (SWAN), launched in October 2024 under the French Association Law of 1901, aims to reshape this status quo. Founded by professionals from Eutelsat Group, CNES, and the NGO Cosmos for Humanity, SWAN aspires to be the transformative force driving inclusive innovation from within the industry.

Today, SWAN’s team represents a vibrant community of pro-bono space professionals, both men and women, who come together to champion an inclusive, forward-thinking environment. This new wave mirrors the broader restructuring underway in the space sector, where established corporations and dynamic startups converge to fuel progress and spark creative breakthroughs.
