COMETES

Ecosystem Partner

Launched in 2025, COMETES is a national program dedicated to developing skills in the French space industry.

In response to the sector’s rapid growth, it aims to train a new generation of professionals while raising broad awareness of the challenges and opportunities in the space sector.

Over a five-year period, the project aims to:

  • Train 11,000 learners, through both initial and continuing education, in key space industry professions and skills.
  • Create 10 innovative degree programs designed to meet the specific needs of industry stakeholders.
  • Raise awareness among 300,000 people, starting at a young age, to inspire career interests and promote diversity in space industry careers.

A Unique Ecosystem

As the winner of the “Skills and Careers of the Future” call for expressions of interest under the France 2030 plan, COMETES brings together a consortium of 26 partners from five French regions: higher education institutions, research centers, major industrial players, local governments, and training organizations.

At the heart of the program, the University Space Centers (CSU) offer a hands-on and immersive approach. They enable students to participate in real-world space projects, develop their technical skills, and learn to work as part of a team, through a hands-on learning approach.

The project is led by the Toulouse Consortium of Universities and Institutions.
