Simon Blaquière is a mathematics engineer who graduated from École Centrale Nantes in 2005 and École Centrale Paris in 2006. He also holds a master’s degree in actuarial science from ENSAE, obtained in 2007.
Simon Blaquière joined the insurance technical department of Generali France in 2018 as Director of Data & Customer Approach, responsible for developing Generali France’s data strategy and enhancing technical approaches for customers and intermediaries. He leads a team of 30 employees, including data engineers, data scientists and actuaries.
He began his career as an actuary in the asset-liability modelling team within Groupama’s finance department. In 2009, he joined AXA Cessions, the AXA Group entity dedicated to reinsurance, first as a senior reinsurance actuary, before taking charge of actuarial modelling and natural catastrophe risks in 2012. In 2018, he joined AXA GIE as Head of P&C Actuarial and Climate Risk Modelling. In 2024, he took over responsibility for reinsurance, natural risks and technical projects at the Generali Climate Lab.
For the past 10 years, Simon has taught courses on reinsurance, extreme risks and natural catastrophes at the CentraleSupélec engineering school and at Paris Dauphine University.
