Ruben has a broad education as a geographer and focused early his attention on remote sensing. The EU's Sentinel programme was a recurring theme in this regard. During his career to date, he has gained experience in the use of remote sensing data in research, business and in governmental context at national and international level.
Since April 2024, he has been one of the national coordinators of the Copernicus Emergency Management Service in Germany at the Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance.
