Direction Générale de la sécurité civile et de la gestion des crises (DGSGC)
A graduate of the Paris lnstitute of Political Studies and the University of Berlin, and an alumnus of the French National School of Public Administration (ENA), Julien MARION served as Chief of Staff to the Prefect of the Poitou-Charentes Region and Prefect of Vienne, before becoming Deputy Chief of Staff to the Secretary-General of the Ministry of the lnterior.
He was then appointed Chief of Staff to the Minister of Health, Youth and Sports, and later Chief of Staff and Special Advisor to the Minister of Solidarity and Social Cohesion.
Returning to the prefectural administration, he served as Secretary-General of the Prefectures of Côte-d'Or and then Oise.
ln 2015, he became Deputy Director General of Civil Protection and Crisis Management, in charge of the Directorate of Firefighters. He then joined the Paris Prefecture of Police as Director of the General Police, and later served as Deputy Prefect for Immigration to the Prefect of Police.
After serving as Chief of Staff to the Secretary of State to the Minister of the lnterior and Overseas Territories in charge of Citizenship, and as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Minister of the lnterior and Overseas Territories, Julien MARION was appointed, on 10 July 2023, Director General of Civil Protection and Crisis Management at the Ministry of the lnterior and Overseas Territories.
Mr Julien MARION is a Knight of the Legion of Honour and a Knight of the National Orcier of Merit.
