Claire Elss is a lawyer specializing in international and space law, president and co-founder of Cosmos for Humanity, a European public interest organization dedicated to promoting sustainable development in the space sector, and founder and CEO of Aranrod.
She participates in international discussions on space sustainability, environmental governance, and responsible space activities, while leading initiatives that translate sustainability commitments into concrete, measurable actions. At Cosmos for Humanity, she oversees the Cosmos sustainability label, a transparent assessment framework designed to encourage sustainable practices throughout the space value chain, as well as an incubation program supporting innovative projects that address environmental and societal challenges related to space activities.
As the founder of Aranrod, she is developing the first European solutions dedicated to the circular economy for end-of-life ground-based space infrastructure, including satellite antennas, radar systems, and associated facilities. Her work bridges the gap between policy, sustainability, and industrial implementation to strengthen the resilience of the space ecosystem.
